A little about Nosara Costa Rica

The Guanacaste area enjoys the highest amount of sunshine in Costa Rica. The dry season is from November to May. From June to August some short but heavy thunderstorms can be expected mainly in the afternoon, and then September and October are the wettest months of the year. Temperatures are never under 24 C during the whole year. From February through April, it can rise to 30-35 C during the daytime, cooling down a little at night.

The small village of Nosara is about 4km inland, and is where you will find the gas station, post office, doctor’s office, police station, supermarket, soccer field, airstrip, discotheque, and some great restaurants and sodas. The Beaches of Nosara, comprised of Playa Nosara,  Pelada, and Guiones (where we are located) are where  you will find most  hotels and restaurants as well as a couple of small supermarkets (Mini Super in Guiones, and Pancho’s in Pelada), surf shops, quad rental agencies, laundry mat, DVD rentals, yoga classes, and more.

Below is a shot of Playa Guiones from Google Earth (photo taken approx. 2002), Playa Pelada (not shown) continues from the top left corner of the photo, and then Playa Nosara is north of Pelada.
