Directions

Driving:

Nosara is approximately a two hour drive from Liberia International Airport or a five hour drive from San Jose International Airport. From the airport head away from San Jose, (take a left out of the airport) and follow any signs towards Puntarenas/Liberia, the road heads down the mountainside and goes past Grecia, San Ramon and Esparza for about an hour and a half, pass the turnoff for Puntarenas and head towards Liberia and Cañas, before Cañas is a turnoff to the left for the Puente La Amistad ( the bridge across to the peninsula), there are signs for Tamarindo and other beaches on the Peninsula. Turn left at this turnoff ( "Total" gas station on the left), the road goes for 20k, then over the bridge, and another 20k, follow the signs to Nicoya, pass through Nicoya ( stop at an ATM if you need to!), from Nicoya follow the signs to Samara and Nosara, it is a windy road, but with very few turnoffs. About 30k from Nicoya there is a gas station on the left, just past the gas station is a turnoff to Nosara, take the dirt road, and begin the last leg of the trip.- The road goes for about 20k West, and then turns to the right heading North up the coast. Pass through a small fishing village called Garza, and then follow signs to Playa Guiones ( where we are). Take the second exit for Guiones. The first one is at Cafe de Paris/Marlin Bills/Coconut Harry´s, the second exit is just past it, with Giardino Tropical on the corner, turn left, and head down about 300 meters until you see a sign that says SIN SALIDA (no exit), turn right, go another 200 meters or so, pass the Gilded Iguana Hotel on your right, and we are just past it on the left, there is a big Imperial sign with our name on it.  

 Flying

There is a small airstrip in Nosara from which you can fly to and from San Jose with either Sansa or Nature Air.

Bus:

From San Jose a direct bus (Alfaro) leaves from the Coca Cola station at 6:00am daily, otherwise get a bus to Nicoya (several a day) and catch the last bus from Nicoya to Nosara at 3:00, if you miss that one, get a taxi fom Nicoya fro approximately $25.

From Liberia get a bus to Nicoya and then from Nicoya to Nosara.
